Excellent turn around on minor repair that got my bike ready for action: dropped the bike off at 6pm and it was ready for midday next day. Rob rang me up too just to check on the work he needed to do. Excellent. Thanks.
I'm not one for leaving poor feedback, but after the experience I've just had I could not find it in myself to give positive comments. From the outset I was bombarded with the usual "can I help you", yes, you can let me browse in peace. But no, that's certainly not going to happen, I was there for no more than 10 minutes, and in that time I was approached 5 times, And to top it will off I was then made to feel like a naughty school child having looked at a bike that I thought may be suitable for my partner, I checked the seating position, checked the brake reach and movement of the gearing to see if they could be operated by someone with small hands.Within seconds a rather disgruntled shop bod came over saying that I should not do that as there was a potential that someone may test ride the bike and could fall off or damage the bike. Now I'm no stupid moron, and I appreciate using gears on a stationary bike isn't good, but I also know if you go up a gear once and down once you're not going to cause any issues whatsoever, and as a fully qualified mountain bike instructor I also know it's imperative that anyone who is allowing someone to ride any bike has a duty of care to ensure that all the components function correctly beforehand, so even if it has been altered, this should be corrected before allowing anyone to ride it.So after that rather brief encounter I grabbed my goods, and departed. Probably for good.Note to store, ease off on the badgering, allow customers the freedom to choose the level of assistance, and if you don't want your goods to be touched in any way, simply place cards on your stock advising accordingly.
Bike fitting by Chris. Very knowledgeable explaining what he was doing and why. Spent plenty of time sorting me out making a number of changes to my bike set up. I would suggest that any regular cyclist would benefit from a professional bike fit. Giant Store offer an excellent service. It was value for money and no attempt to sell me gear not needed. To finish off I rode just under 50 miles the same day and another 20 plus today. No aches or pains and 5 minutes taken off my fastest time on my regular route. Whats not to like
I was served by one of the owners when I bought my first bike. I had so many questions as I was completely new to cycling. He really took his time to make sure I felt comfortable with the choice of bike and trusted him enough to know that he was indeed the expert on bikes and wanted me to enjoy riding so would only sell me something I would love. Not once was I hurried or subjected to the 'hard sell' suggested by a previous review. I received a one to one bike fit (free of charge) which gave me confidence to know that once I started to ride the bike it would be comfortable, I would not suffer from wrist pain or a strained back. My bike also received a free service after the first 6 weeks. I've been back a few times to buy kit and accessories, and recently I purchased a new road bike as the cycling bug has bitten; every single time the service I have received has been impeccable - you know the type, "Yes, we can do that for you madam." Hence my 5 star rating.
Nice personnel and very knowledgable. many bikes to test and see. All in all very pleasant experience.
